Julia Herbert is a Specialist Continence Physiotherapist with 20 years experience of working in this speciality. Julia is currently a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist employed by Bolton Primary Care NHS Trust working as a member of a multi-professional Integrated Continence Team. She also runs a specialist private practice treating bladder and bowel dysfunction, providing freelance training and consultancy services and her practice is based in Manchester.
Julia is a member of the International Continence Society (ICS), ICS (UK), the Association for Continence Advice (North West Region secretary), and the Association for Chartered Physiotherapists in Women’s Health and was a founding member and past chairman of Chartered Physiotherapists Promoting Continence (CPPC).
Julia has written a number of articles and features in three videos on the subject of incontinence, she has also given presentations and lead workshops at conferences and meetings both in the UK and internationally. Julia has made numerous appearances on television and radio to promote continence, the most notable being the broadcast on the national BBC 2 network, a piece about stress incontinence on ‘Trust me I’m a Doctor’ (1999). |
