PROVEN TREATMENT EFFICACY

Femeda has conducted a preliminary user trial of Pelviva and 100% of the women reported an improvement in their incontinence; with 43% of the women reporting complete relief of symptoms. The average improvement in the condition of all trial participants was 67%, as measured by the ICIQ-UI form.

In 2009, Femeda conducted a further clinical trial in Manchester together with the Wellcome trust. 84% of the women who used Pelviva experienced an improvement with reductions in the amount and frequency of leakage being reported.

 

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY PROTECTED BY PATENTS

Femeda’s innovations surrounding Pelviva are protected by patent applications. The electro-stimulation waveform is protected by a patent which has been licensed from the University of Manchester. This unique waveform works deeply into the muscles without over-tiring them. Femeda also has three patent applications to protect the unique aspects of its products that contribute to clinical efficacy and mass market appeal. These are now in National/Regional phase with wide global protection, UK/US/China etc.

 

 

 

HIGHLY ATTRACTIVE WIDE APPLICATION RANGE AND ROUTES TO MARKETS

Pelviva is suitable for treating stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence. It is a vast improvement over incontinence containment products such as pads and has many advantages over current electro-stimulation products. Further, it has none of the side effects associated with medications and is less risky/drastic than surgery.

Pelviva will be principally positioned as an OTC product and will be marketed in the feminine hygiene section within the FMCG grocery channel. It will also be distributed via the pharmacy channel and there is potential to develop the sector within publicly funded healthcare systems (such as the National Health Service in the UK, and global equivalents), private hospitals, nursing homes and the physiotherapy sector.

 

 

POTENTIAL TO BECOME A MAJOR CONSUMER BRAND

Pelviva, with its revolutionary design and high treatment efficacy, has the potential to grow and reshape the incontinence market and become a globally recognised brand. It provides significant relief of symptoms after a short period of use. Natural deterioration of muscle tone requires women to continue treatment to maintain optimum pelvic floor muscle strength and this will ensure repeat purchase over time.

Pelviva is likely to have a universal appeal across cultural boundaries, demonstrated by the fact that all the participants in the preliminary trial found it easy to use, despite being non-tampon users.
