Professor Jackie Oldham ..(PhD, BSc (Hons), RGN)
Scientific Adviser
Jackie is Professor of Rehabilitation Science in the University of Manchester. She
is an academic with over thirty years research experience. She has dedicated her
career to understanding how muscles work and how we can use electrical stimulation
to restore and improve muscle function. One of her inventions was development of
a pattern of electrical pulses to mimic normal nerve activity to improve muscles
such as the pelvic floor. It is this pattern which we have incorporated into Pelviva.
Jackie says about Pelviva…
“I am really pleased to have contributed to the development of Pelviva for the treatment of incontinence and to know that women like yourselves are benefitting from years of pain staking research to develop the best pattern of electrical stimulation pulses to restore your pelvic floor function. That Femeda have taken this technology and incorporated it into a disposable device that can be used in the comfort and privacy of your own home makes this development even more exciting. We have seen so many women benefit from this treatment even those who have had the problem for a long time and I’m really pleased that many women are now getting the opportunity to try it. “
