The Pelviva Story
At Pelviva we believe two things – that no woman should have to put up with bladder leaks and that we need to break the taboo of incontinence. Plus we don’t like the word incontinence.
From the start we set out to develop a product which offers a genuine solution to the one in three women affected by leaks and then make it available to everyone who needed it. We have been working on perfecting Pelviva for seven years. Over those six years we have been solely focused on bladder weakness and the pelvic floor muscles, with no other products or services in the way to distract us. As you can imagine, there is not a lot about the subject that we don’t know.
In the 1990’s our Chairman, Jim Bradley, launched Tena Lady in the UK. Understanding the market he wanted to develop a product which would genuinely improve the quality of life for ladies and fit into their hectic lifestyle It was his early vision, based on the kernel of an idea given to him by a company making pelvic floor devices, that inspired a team of very talented people to join the Pelviva journey.
People like Professor Jackie Oldham from Manchester University who designed our patented pulse programme, specifically to improve both the strength and endurance of the muscles.
People like Julia Herbert, our Clinical Director, and a specialist Continence Physiotherapist with 25 years’ experience of working in this particular area. Julia’s expert insight, and years of experience working closely with sufferers, gives the company a genuine view from the front line of bladder leaks.
The whole Pelviva team is populated by people who are passionate about their subject and extremely sensitive and sympathetic to the distress bladder leakage can cause. In fact we are happy to say that some of us have experienced the (sometimes not so) odd leak or two and we are just as delighted as the rest of you with the solution we have created.
